An idea....

I have come up with an idea. Why not do a modern take for the "Double Period Project"?

I can make a jacket like Lydia's....

Or I could base a jacket off of this....

Or even this....

the choices are endless!
I'm considering taking this route. It would also be cheaper, as I wouldn't need as much fabric.

Double Period Project - 1770-1789

Your Wardrobe Unlock'd is doing a double period project competition and I'm highly considering in entering. I'm leaning on doing an outfit from around the years 1770-1789. My other choice is the Natural Form era (1876-1882). As I already have many sources and patterns for the 18th century I would do that era. But I would love to make a natural form dress! *sighs* So many lovely inspirations to choose from.

Let me show you some screen caps from movies that are inspiring me for my chosen era. (Disclaimer: I have not seen many of the following films so I'm NOT recommending them at all, just the costumes. The only one I've seen is "Amazing Grace" and I highly recommend the movie.)
